Glencoe Heartbeat was an Open Campdraft Stallion. He won 8 drafts in total 3 being Opens. Heartbeat has also achieved over 50 placings and won numerous cutouts.

He consistently produced soft, quiet, sensitive horses that excel in any discipline. All of his progeny that have started campdrafting have either won or placed. His progeny are also making their place in the Showring, winning at National level & they have also played at National levels in Polocrosse.

It was an unlikely beginning to the partnership between Phil Attard and Glencoe Heartbeat.

After moving to Northern NSW Phil went on the search for a Stallion to help run his recently purchased cattle property 'Gurteen'. After months of searching and thousands of kilometres Phil decided to go to the Toowoomba Stockhorse Yearling Sale to look at two quarter horse cross colts. Phil being from a Quarter Horse background decided he would get a Stockhorse/Quarter Horse Cross colt.

When Phil arrived at the sale the colts didn't meet his expectations but was talked into to staying and having a look at what was there.

One small and weedy colt took his eye. He wasn't the Quarter Horse cross colt Phil was after but a Heritage Stockhorse.

The colt wasn't in show condition at the time because of his stunted growth being a poddy reared foal. But nevertheless Phil could see an amazing frame and was so impressed with the feel and sensitivity he had on the lead. This colt was Heartbeat.

Phil not being well versed in Stockhorse bloodlines at the time asked as many people he could at the sale trying to find out more about his pedigree.

Phil was very pleased to hear his Sire Mallanganee Pop Gun was very well known and an exceptional campdrafter.

His dam was Comara Fletch who was by Abdul and had won over 20 open drafts.

This cemented in Phils mind that this was the horse for him despite that way he looked at the time.

Phil had the winning bid at the grand total of $2500 and so began a wonderful partnership between them both spaning many years and countless hours.

They had an unbreakable bond that shone through everytime Phil and Heartbeat stepped into the Cut-out yard. Heartbeat put in 110 percent everytime for Phil and this was no different at home doing general work.

When ever there was a tough job to do Phil would always look for Heartbeat.

It deeply saddens us all at Attard Stockhorses that we had to say goodbye to Heartbeat. We are sure he would be getting looked after by more than one of Phils mates up there.

We are forever grateful for having him in our lives. He was the start and foundation of Attard Stockhorses and his legacy will live on through his wonderful progeny.

We would like to thank the Fraser Family for breeding him and we are eternally grateful.

He will forever have a place in our hearts and it is hard to say goodbye, he was a part of our family.
